A bridge that has a compromised infrastructure will collapse and a building that loses structural integrity will crack. So it is with the church when a church does not have a strong administrative infrastructure. It is imperative that God’s church operate in an efficient and productive manner that does not jeopardize the physical and financial welfare of the Pastor, his family and the flock. These systems and structures must include intentional moments of self-care and self-discipline designed to improve the longevity of leadership effectiveness. Working with the Deborahs and the Delilahs
Be it conscious or unconscious, most of us have dual personalities in us. The “Delilah” in us tends to covet, to manipulate, or to conquer, while the “Deborah” in us seeks God’s wisdom, relies on His blessings, and lives by His Word. Deborah lived by God’s Words. She required no validation from men, and therefore the art of manipulation was never attractive to her. Delilah lived a life of manipulation. Yet both are daughters of God and were used mightily by Him. Let’s learn to value the contributions of both!
